To the Editor: The towns of Deerfield, Northwood, Nottingham and Candia have an excellent choice this November for state representative. Former Rep. Maureen Mann is a highly respected member of our community who is endorsed by Obama and Romney fans alike.
A retired realtor and teacher, Maureen has received endorsements from the Sierra Club, AFL-CIO and SEIU. She has provided more communication about the goings-on of the legislature than any official we’ve ever seen.
Her opponent, Don Gorman is a Libertarian in Republican clothing. The “revolution: fuel for the fire” website describes Gorman as “a leading Libertarian Party activist.” He served as a Republican in the state House from 1973 to 1976. In 1992, he won his house seat as a Libertarian. In 2000, he ran unsuccessfully for the Libertarian Party’s nomination for President. He is a former political director for the NH Liberty Forum and a fierce pro-gun advocate. In local issues here in Deerfield, he is an obstructionist more interested in hearing himself talk than contributing to informed decision making.
Restore some balance in Concord — vote for Maureen Mann for state representative.
